All My Love to the CBC …

I’m glad to have had the chance to be interviewed by Mack Furlong of the CBC Weekend Arts Magazine, who always does a great interview. Here’s a link to the interview if you’d like to listen. New Links and a New Reading

If you click on the tab marked “PRESS” at the top of this page, you will see that I’ve posted a bunch of new links to reviews of That Forgetful Shore and interviews with me about the book.

Also, I’m happy to announce that I’ll be reading from That Forgetful Shore on Wednesday evening, January 18, at the A.C. Hunter Public Library (that’s the one in the Arts and Culture Centre) in St. John’s, at 7:00 p.m. I promise I’ll have you out of there and home in time to watch Republic of Doyle so you need have no fear about coming out on a Wednesday night. Hope to see you there!

I’m Excited About This!

For me, reading from the book in Bay Roberts is kind of like bringing it “home” — not to my home (except in the ancestral sense) but to the book’s home, since so much of That Forgetful Shore takes place in Missing Point, which is closely based on the town of Coley’s Point right next to Bay Roberts. I’m really excited about reading there on December 13!

More Signings

I’ll be signing copies of That Forgetful Shore at Coles in the Avalon Mall on Sunday, November 27 from 1-3, or later that same day, at Chapters from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Also, you can come to the Mount Pearl Public Library on Wednesday evening, Nov. 30, and hear me read from That Forgetful Shore as part of the Michael McCarthy Memorial Readings.

As the Christmas season draws near, remember that books make wonderful gifts!

What’s Coming Up

The launch was held on Sept. 21 and was a great success. I also enjoyed visiting Halifax for Word on the Street, reading with great writers like Jessica Grant and Kate Evans, and of course the best part of all — meeting readers!

Events! Events!!

I’m happy to announce that the official launch of That Forgetful Shore will be at the LSPU Hall in St. John’s, Wednesday Sept. 21 at 7:00 p.m. I and my publisher, Breakwater Books, will be sharing the event with another great local publisher, Creative Books, and their author Wilhelmina Fitzpatrick, who will be launching her book Mercy of St. Jude.

Once the book is available in stores, you’ll find me out and about promoting it. On Sunday, Sept. 25 I’ll be at Word on the Street in Halifax at 4:00 p.m., sharing the stage with two wonderful Newfoundland writers, Kate Evans and Jessica Grant.

I’ll be signing copies of That Forgetful Shore back home in St. John’s again on Sunday, Oct. 2 at Coles in the Avalon Mall from 1-3 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 9  at Chapters on Kenmount Road, also from 1-3 p.m.
